Our goal and values

Objectives

Looking for the highest quality Spirulina, we have defined a list of criteria we had to meet :

Ecological production : in respecting the environment, no soil erosion, no fertilizer runoff, no water pollution.

Ecologically grown : without the use of pesticides and insecticides. Clean and pure sources of mineral nutrients are used. Premium quality minerals like nitrogen, potassium, iron and essential trace elements nourish a consistently high quality Spirulina.

Purity : free of additives, preservatives and artificial colours, no irradiation.

Safety : microbiological testing, and the absence of heavy metal contamination is regularly controlled by inspection at an approved laboratory.

Traditional methods : have been proven to preserve the whole quality of the product, and also in respect of sanitary and hygienic conditions:

  • Cultivation in small ponds with gentle and manual stirring,
  • Simple and efficient pressing and extrusion,
  • A low drying temperature below 60°C, avoiding drying by cooking at too high temperature  (Spirulina cooked), the spray drying (cells explode and the contents exposed to oxidation and high temperature) and solar drying (deterioration of phytonutrients such as beta carotene).

Preservation : immediately packed in sealed, airproof, aluminum sachet avoiding oxidation by air and humidity.

Acceptance criteria :

  • Dark blue green colour (neither yellowish nor greenish),
  • Pleasant smell and taste (no degradation of the product by oxidation),
  • Spiraled shape filaments under microscopic observation (which is not the case in most of the intensive productions due a kind of mutation).

    Ethical values

Our motivation is to share our knowledge about this exceptional product and suggest that you discover it for your own fitness and vitality.
To give you complete satisfaction we have worked on four main lines:

    • Quality by selecting from all the production sites visited, and tested, or where we worked, in Asia, America and France, Spirulina responding fully to the criteria defined above, which is quite rare,
    • Conservation by choosing the best packaging for preserving the nutrients of Spirulina over a long period, i.e. tight, aluminized heat-sealed sachet, with a mini-grip closure and a flat bottom. These bags will allow you to keep your Spirulina throughout the duration of consumption,
    • Price, trying to fix prices as low as possible for the benefit of all,
    • Support for a local economy by promoting a medium scale family farm.
